PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE:

​It may not be possible to avoid every shutdown, but with a preventive maintenance program, hot

spots indicating improper termination, and improper release setting can be detected. Rectification at

an appropriate time will minimize the incidence of shutdowns.

OVERHAULING AND SERVICING:

Switchgear products work in a variety of ambient conditions. Maintenance engineers know that

electrical equipment like switchgear, when installed and used in harsh conditions of high dust,

humidity or temperature, need periodic attention. An overhauling and servicing contract with GES ensures that necessary cleaning, greasing and termination checks are carried out.

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT:

The AMC provides you combination of the above offerings - an annual overhauling & servicing and

two preventive maintenance checks. AMC assures you of expert attention to keep your products in

the optimum working condition.​

and provide assistance during commissioning and testing.

MANAGING OBSOLESCENCE:

With the introduction of newer products offering better features to the customer, availability of spares

for old products is a cause for concern - especially for products as vital as switchgear. Replacing

ageing products is often the best solution. GES offers expertise in retrofitting and upgrading Electrical

and Automation products.

Use of genuine spares ensures that the performance of electrical system is not compromised. We have the capacity to service more than 100 Breakers in a day.

TRAINING ON PRODUCT USAGE:

Our service engineers work with customers' maintenance staff to train them in using our switchgear

products. Programs on good maintenance practices are conducted on site. In addition, our well-

equipped training center located at run programs on switchgear maintenance. This training support ensures that plant engineers have

the confidence to handle routine maintenance and resolve faults in an emergency.

​HARMONIC STUDY:

The increasing use of power electronics based equipment which include Variable Frequency Drives

(VFDs), Electronic Power Supplies (like SMPS), Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), Battery

Chargers, Electronic Ballasts produces non-linear current resulting in increasing level of harmonics.

Harmonic currents produced by nonlinear loads are injected back into power distribution systems

through the point of common coupling (PCC). As the harmonic currents pass through the line

impedance of the system, harmonic voltages appear, causing distortion.

Harmonics have a number of undesirable effects on the distribution system such as :

➤ Overloading of PF correction capacitors

➤Tripping of protective devices

➤ Overloading in neutral conductor

➤ Excessive voltage distortion

➤Overloading of transformers and generators

➤Overheating of cables.

IEEE- 519 – 1992 recommends practice and requirements for harmonic control in electric power

system. Harmonic distortion in power distribution systems can be suppressed using harmonic filters.
